I think I would like everyone to know the format of thinking through design is changing... we are going to become a go-to blog for all your scrappy educational needs.  TOMORROW I will be posting a more detailed explaination for you but I am sure you will be excited to see what we are up to.. It is time.... Yesterday I gave away an ISSUE of Creating Keepsakes newest ISSUE (May/Jun 2012).  Well today I get to start a give-away for the latest SPECIAL ISSUE of Creating Keepsakes.

I must admit, I REALLY love this special issue because it really is closer to my way of scrapbooking.  I also enjoyed being able to create a layout for this ISSUE.  

In this layout I used basic scrapbook supplies and 4 additional supplies. I found that using one mask (on the bottom of the layout) inspired me to create a similar look and feel on the side of the layout (see left yellow punched cardstock). 

One thing I love about this ISSUE is that it give you ways to create layout with just a few or many supplies, additionally there are many other fun ideas and a ton of inspiration to explore! Everyone knows I am about details. As I looked through this issue for the first time I was struck at how many amazing little details are packed inside.

Now back to our regularly scheduled challenge SO this week has been a bit of a catch up and you can read alllll about it at CLUB CK where I posted the challenge this week. 

I have to let you know, early next week I will be making an announcement about t*t*d -- the format will be changing a bit and I am excited to share with you what is going to be happening around here... I think you will be happy with the changes.

SO here is my layout from the ISSUE challenge this week.. it was fun and I loved making this one.. mostly because I was sooo  inspired  I have three photos this week becuase I have a few extra thoughts this week. A special shout out to Jillibean Soup for making this amazing bike themed paper!

Now for a little deeper thought on this layout I wanted to pull up the "our time" embellishment

a thought on this element: I used the stamped background to reinforce the "time" feeling. It is very subtle but in the back of the mind the clock face is bringing the feel that time is important to this story. 

 

I also used staples from the back side also is creating a stitched look on this element. I just loved how this looked and it made a little details count!

 

Again it is the little details on this I wanted to show that I stamped the bike stamp as a soft reminder of the purpose of the layout, and by coloring in the rounded portions of the journaling a visual interest is created and a sense of "what is going on down in the journaling" and the reader is drawn to read the story of this layout.

MIA Giveaway!

 Well I had a family member pass away and I had to suddenly leave for Tennessee for a week.  I have been a bit crazy trying to get ready for CKC-Mesa caught back up with work, school and family.. SOOOO I apologize for not getting the last two ISSUE challenges up.. BUT thanks to a dear friend (Laura M) I have been able to get them up at club CK and facebook-- BUT I wanted to share them here as well...

Here was my take on the ISSUE challenge this week:

 

a little thought on this layout: I used Kaiser Craft Paper this week because it allowed me to reinforce the "techy" portion of my story. My photos are not a strong representation of the story I wanted to tell, therefore, I used my embellishments to visually start the story and carry the theme.
